To mark what would have been the first Lincoln City Half Marathon event on Sunday 20 September 2020, runners across the UK (and beyond!) took to the streets to log their own #RedInRed.
The Lincoln City Half Marathon team made the decision earlier this year to postpone the 2020 event to support the efforts to tackle the Covid-19 outbreak. However, organisers Lincoln City Foundation and Curly’s Athletes still wanted to celebrate the day, whilst kick starting the countdown to the 2021 event, which is due to take place on Sunday 19 September 2021.
The online campaign to #RunInRed was held across weekend of the 19-20th September and invited people to run, jog or walk their own route/s and distance whilst wearing something red. Images and selfies were posted on social media using the hashtags #RunInRed and #ImpsHalf2020.
A fantastic selection of images were received, including a photo sent from Claire who logged her #RunInRed all the way from Perth in Australia! Check some out below:
The Lincoln City Half Marathon team are continuing their work to bring the 13.1 mile road race to Lincoln in 2021, ensuring the race will be an inclusive and enjoyable experience for all. The team are excited to welcome runners who have already secured their place in the 2021 event, and the race is also open to new registrations from those looking to take on the #ImpsHalf2021 challenge.
