Lincoln City Half Continue Route Consultation Online

Lincoln City Foundation and Curly’s Athletes are following government guidelines to help combat the Coronavirus outbreak in the UK.

With their flagship half marathon event planned for Sunday 20 September 2020, the team at Lincoln City Foundation are continuing to ensure the road race goes ahead with participant safety and community consultation remaining their ultimate focus.

Prior to releasing the much-anticipated next stage of the 13.1 mile route, Lincoln City Foundation had intended to ensure that residents impacted were individually informed about the event in order to minimise disruption on the day.

Charlotte Hornsby, Operations Manager at Lincoln City Foundation said:

“At this time, it is not appropriate that we hand deliver flyers to individual homes along the route like we had intended. We hope that through our online promotion and working collaboratively with our partners and local community groups that we can reach as many residents as possible over the next few weeks.
"We believe that by September there will be a real hunger for an inclusive, celebratory event for the city of Lincoln.”

The Foundation aims to distribute the flyers to those impacted by the route once government guidelines permit it is safe to do so.

The initial section of the event route was released in January and can be found here.

Roads and streets expected to be impacted by the mid-section of the race include:

  • Wigford Way

  • Beaumont Fee

  • West Parade

  • Carline Road

  • Union Road

  • Westgate

  • Bailgate and Newport Arch

  • Cecil Street

  • Rasen Lane

  • Yarborough Road

  • Long Leys Road

  • Orchard Street, and

  • Newland.

We expect runners will be passing through this area between 8.45 to 10.30am.

The full route will be released following further consultation, expected end of April 2020.
