Lincoln City Half Launches Three Hills Challenge

The next section of the Lincoln City Half Marathon is revealed.

Lincoln City Foundation are dispelling the myth that Lincolnshire is flat as they continue to release details of their exciting city centre half marathon route due to take place for the first time on Sunday 20 September 2020.

Alice Carter takes use through the route on her morning run

The middle section of the 13.1 mile course that begins at Boultham Park heading towards and through the University of Lincoln city campus then travels to the cultural quarter through residential streets, including Carline Road, Yarborough Road and Long Leys Road.

These roads will form part of the events Three Hills Challenge where runners, joggers and walkers will seek motivation from spectators as they climb and descend through the city reaching mile ten of the entire race distance.

Consultation for this section of the route has been undertaken using online platforms due to the social distancing government guidelines with information available here

Charlotte Hornsby, Operations Manager at Lincoln City Foundation said: “you can’t visit Lincoln without seeing our beautiful Bailgate area which is full of heritage and character. So, for the runners the only way is up.

“We have tried to encompass all that Lincoln has to offer in our event and we believe that with Curly’s Athletes and the support of the local authority, we are giving participants something a little bit different.”

Fortunately for those taking part, what goes up must come down and after completing the Three Hills Challenge of Lincoln, runners head south again knowing that the finish line awaits them at the end of a steady final section.
