IMPspiring Story: Danny Carter

Updated: Feb 12, 2020

Danny Carter, 25, Lincoln

Danny is not afraid to set himself a challenge (having completed a skydive for charity last year and with a bungee jump already booked in for this year) taking on the Lincoln City Half Marathon is therefore the next step in Danny’s fundraising mission!

Danny is taking part in the Lincoln City Half Marathon to raise funds for the Lincoln City Foundation and for Anthony Nolan, which are both causes close to Danny’s heart.

Danny openly admits that long distance running is not his forte, but with aspirations to complete a full marathon for charity one day, he could not turn down the chance to test himself across 13.1 miles in his hometown!

Far from being an experienced runner himself, he is looking forward to taking part with friends on the day and is hoping they will motivate him throughout his training and help him to push the boundaries of what he thinks he can achieve.

Danny’s advice to fellow half marathoners is: “soak up what will be an amazing atmosphere on the day; embrace the fact that when you start to struggle you won’t be alone (I’ll be with you in that, no doubt!) and anticipate the feeling of accomplishment at the finish line.”

Is there a charity you would like to offer your support to in 2020? Why not sign up to the Lincoln City Half Marathon and set yourself a challenge which you know will help and inspire others!
